The road to fatherhood...

Gradually the prospect of being a father is becoming very real to me. My wife is very obviously pregnant now (though the kids at school have been pretty slow on the uptake) and babybish kicks very strongly.

Two weeks ago we went to the breastfeeding seminar, last week we repainted our spareroom and on Saturday we went and acquired our travel system (I'm learning new jargon daily at the moment). We're told it's all about the wheels, and ours has fine wheels. It some ways for us it was all about the boot - since our car has a fairly small one. But this one fits and is what we wanted. Big thanks to Scott and Barbie who expertly introduced us to their travel system a couple of weeks ago (due a couple of weeks before us).

Much more to learn along the way no doubt. It's a whole new world.

  1. Certainly is a whole new world and packing the car and getting away for days/weekends/holidays is a challenging experience. The smallest definitely has the most stuff. Still, the whole thing is a total blast and I had no idea what to expect at all. Enjoy

  2. It's all spin - it used to be called pram and car seat - but travel system sounds so much more sophisticated....

  3. Ah, looks good. As I sat in Starbucks with one Relay worker, 4 mums with newborn babies passed us to congregate in the sofas next to ours - and two of them had identical "travel systems" (haha) which do look like yours there. They folded neatly to fit past the sofas, and the car seat / cot bits came out easily too. Seemed like a well-designed system, and looked sufficiently streamlined and lightweight, with great wheels and suspension... that I wondered if following their coffee, these Mums were all off to the buggy races. Meanwhile I recalled doing just as well in Brussels with a tiny old pushchair over cobbled streets, and buggyboard rattling on the back for the older child. Ha!
