Stranger than fiction

Pete Dray reports a survey about existence that is a little disappointing for the Greatest Briton. Sorry, Winston! Still, wont be long til people think that Tony Blair was a cartoon character.

It is a bit shocking that we live on junior school history - not sure I knew much history back then. I suppose in the age of 24 hour news media and uncountable TV channels it's sometimes hard to tell the difference.

I suppose Jack Bauer is more real to most of us than Kiefer Sutherland. But, as Pete notes that makes it a bit of a challenge when we're trying to assert the existence of Jesus as a man who lived, spoke and was seen.

The thing is these convictions about the non-existence of Churchill or the existence of Eleanor Rigby aren't informed beliefs. And challenging them shouldn't be all that difficult to do with a little evidence.

  1. I'm not entirely sure even now that Tony Blair isn't a cartoon character!
